Focusing On The Target Market

One of the definitive rules of marketing is to focus on the target market; get them in your sights and then BAM! You've got a mighty fine sale to put food on the table.

But many businesses would rather blanket the population with mass mailings, operating under the assumption that out of all the recipients, some of them have got to be part of their targeted prospects.

Don't assume anything! Increase your chances of reaching the right customers by executing targeted mailings, not mass smotherings.


One way to figure out who you should target and what message should be is to dig through your receipt files for names. Check all kinds of documents, including purchase orders and invoices.

With these documents you can determine who is likely to buy from you, where you are making the most money, and what product lines or types of business can be put on the back burner, or eliminated altogether.

After classifying which customers are and are not buying from you, tailor letters to fit each group of targeted prospects.

You will find that you can execute targeted mailings as often as mass mailings, and your response rate will almost definitely go up.

Joining Soweto Positive Speakers Club

Since I have joined Soweto Positive Speakers – Toastmasters International Club my confidence and public speaking level has risen to the top. It is not only by making speeches themselves, but by learning through observation when other club members make speeches. It is great to see people who are not confident with making presentation do it. People who have fears to walk past a crowd and feel like opening the ground and hide themselves inside it so as not to be seen. These shy club members make powerful speeches even if they are scared. One learns that he was not alone and if someone can deliver an interesting speech in his / her fearful state, then with courage to conquer a speech can be delivered by all of us. If we can challenge our unknown fears slowly but surely our confidence level will reach the stars.

Soweto Positive Speakers Club has offered me a non-professional platform to develop myself as a speaker. Since joining Positive speakers, I am now able to speak with strangers confidently. Networking becomes a second nature as I am dealing with striking a conversation with people who are not in my comfort zone. I now accept invitations and offers to attend any meeting without any unknown fear(s). It is through participating in club meetings and roles that I am becoming confident in speaking publicly. Activities inside manuals that we get from Toastmasters International play a key role in my development.

As a member of Toastmaster I get to be evaluated in every speech that I make. Club members offer their positive criticism that builds me to being a better speaker. Feedback from club members will tell you where your level of speaking is. You get evaluated on the relevance of your speech, pace of your voice, hand and body movement and grammar. During the meeting your evaluation will be read out to you and the club members. This evaluation will help you and other club members.

I am always looking forward to attend the next meeting. It is exciting to be with a group of people who do what they love and committed in what they do. Positive Speakers club members are exciting people to be with as you always hear inspiring and humorous speeches and you can always take one or two points and apply them in your live. Come and be inspired or inspire others with your words of wisdom. Joining Soweto Positive Speakers Club was the best thing that I have ever done and I plan to stay here for as long as I live. Develop your mind

As an aspiring speaker I had learned from the master of this craft that a better speaker always develops his mind and communication skills.

A good speaker develops his / her mind by continuously researching the field and industry he is interested in and together with the subject of his topics.

Aspiring speakers should find mentors and/coaches from those who have made it in the public speaking industry and also in the industry that a speaker will be speaking about, that is if it is internet marketing, the speaker will have to develop his knowledge about internet marketing.

I am developing my mind, and I am growing as an international public speaker. I have just joined Soweto Positive Speakers Toastmasters International Club. It is in this club where I Hone my public speaking skills. I will have my CC and CL and finally DTM.

Develop your mind and you will reap the rewards for the investment made. Put your hand deeper in your pocket, read books that will ensure that you will reach your goal efficiently. Associate yourself with people who believe in yourself.

Begin with the end in mind

My imagination tells me to begin at the end, can I really begin at the end. Yes! You Can Basi. Because the journey will be easy, and you will know where you are going.

The light shining at the end will guide me to my beginning. The how is not so important, the most important thing is the end. it is preferably easy to know where you are going as it will drive you to plan your journey accordingly.

My daily motivating question is "How Would The Person I Would Like To Be Do The Things That I am About To do? This particular question deals with the how.

Internet Offers Oportunities

There are so many diversified opportunities on the internet these days. One of them in google Adsense. Google Adsense allows you to post adverts on your website and pays you for that. There more people click those adverts, the more you smile all the way to the bank. Wouldn't you like to smile all the way to the bank? Open a google adsense account now and follow the easy instructions and start making money while sleeping. This tool is already generating money on my account.

Internet is not an emerging market, it is a growing market. We need to position ourselves in such a way that we get a percentage of this market as it grows. Internet business can be done anywhere in the world. As long as you find the right product/or service and the target market for it, find a way of presenting it to your market.
